Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Senior Airport Planner/Architect/Engineer to advance airport planning across landside, terminal, and airside domains. The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, FAA coordination, and developing ALP updates.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s in a related field, aviation planning experience, and CAD/GIS proficiency, with master’s and licensure preferred. Hybrid work with remote one day per week supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Experience in aviation facility planning and design, including planning strategies and terminal/airport infrastructure assessments.
• Experience preparing site plans, terminal or airport infrastructure layouts, conceptual drawings, and presentations.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and related CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Developing, overseeing, and analyzing airport simulation models (terminal and airside).
• Reviewing technical work for airport planning and redevelopment projects.
• Preparing capacity analyses for terminal, airside, and support facilities.
• Creating planning concepts and layouts using CAD and GIS.
• Preparing and delivering technical reports, studies, and briefs for stakeholders.
• Coordinating with FAA and other stakeholders on ALP updates and regulatory submissions.
• Developing site development plans and analyses for airport redevelopment initiatives.
• Providing technical planning support related to land use, zoning, and codes.
• Responding to stakeholder requests and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Traveling to Port Authority airports as needed.
