Job summary

NTH Consultants, Ltd. is seeking an experienced environmental professional to provide technical leadership on air quality permitting and compliance projects in Michigan. You will work with clients, coordinate regulatory submissions, and mentor junior staff across disciplines.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and delivering high-quality regulatory analyses, reports, and proposals. Field and office work blend in a flexible-hybrid environment with opportunities for growth and ESOP

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance including NPDES, stormwater, Clean Air Act permitting and compliance, and hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to organize technical material into reports and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and training junior staff.
• Collaborative problem-solving approach and strong people skills for client interactions.
• Excellent time management and multi-project focus; willingness to travel.
• Ability to perform field duties and lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on environmental matters.
• Serve as client liaison for air quality projects and ensure high client service levels.
• Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, and compliance reports.
• Perform and review emissions calculations, sampling results, and regulatory analyses.
• Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies for approvals.
• Offer technical guidance and training to staff.
• Prepare proposals and work plans with scope, schedules, and fees.
• Develop and present project and technical presentations to clients and staff.
• Assist Division Director in business strategy and growth initiatives.
