Job summary

ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant, Air Quality in Houston, TX (also Austin, TX) to lead air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and climate initiatives for clients in oil & gas, power, tech and chemicals.

You will deliver analyses, develop emission inventories, prepare Title V/PSD/NSR permits, and collaborate with ERM's national network of experts. Travel to client sites is required; MS preferred for advanced roles.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences required; MS preferred.
• 3+ years (4+ years preferred) of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with air quality permits (Title V, PSD, NSR, MACT).
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and databases; excellent communication.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
• Preferred: advanced degree; climate projects (GHG inventories) and Low Carbon standards familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct air quality analyses and regulatory applicability evaluations.
• Prepare and manage air quality permits (Title V, PSD, NSR) and liaise with regulators.
• Develop emission inventories and assess pollution control technologies.
• Implement climate change initiatives and public disclosure/verification.
• Support MACT compliance programs and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Ensure quality standards across multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Foster strong client relationships and collaborate with ERM’s national network of experts.
