Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Air Permitting Engineer to join the Air Quality team for one of our Engineering Consulting clients. This senior role focuses on air emissions inventories, permit applications, and regulatory analyses under federal, state, and local standards.

The candidate should have a Florida PE, extensive air quality permitting experience, and proficiency with modeling tools (SCREEN3, AERSCREEN, AERMOD), Excel, and Word; fieldwork and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - environmental or chemical preferred.
• Florida PE (Professional Engineer).
• Minimum 15 years of air quality permitting and compliance experience with an environmental consulting firm or equivalent.
• Experience with air quality permitting and Florida-specific compliance.
• Ability to perform field work and occasional overnight travel.
• Experience with air quality modeling (SCREEN3, AERSCREEN, AERMOD).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Conducting regulatory analyses for federal, state, and local air regulations (CAA, NESHAPs, NSPS).
• Oversee projects requiring air dispersion modeling analysis performed by others.

• Develop relationships with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and perspective clients.
• Drive to client or project sites as needed.

• Preparing air emissions inventories and environmental compliance reports
• Preparing emissions calculations and air permit applications
• Conducting regulatory analyses related to federal, state, and local air regulations regarding Clean Air Act, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs), and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
• Oversee projects requiring air dispersion modeling analysis performed by others
• Performing analyses related to air pollution control systems and source monitoring and measurement requirements
• Established relationships with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and perspective clients
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering - environmental or chemical engineering preferred
• Florida PE (Professional Engineer)
• Minimum 15 years of air quality permitting and compliance experience with an environmental consulting firm or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experienced in air quality permitting and air quality compliance specific to Florida
• Ability to perform field work and occasional overnight travel assignments
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel • Master's Degree in Engineering
• Experience with air quality modeling (SCREEN3, AERSCREEN, AERMOD)
