Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled engineer to design and build high-performance distributed systems, working close to the Linux kernel, containers, and PCIe, with production-grade Rust, C, or Go.

You will join a fully remote infrastructure team across North America, tackle real production incidents, and contribute to architecture decisions while delivering scalable platforms used by leading AI labs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building high-performance distributed systems at meaningful scale.
• Strong low-level Linux foundations across kernel, drivers, filesystems, containers, and PCIe.
• Production-grade experience in Rust, C, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance systems spanning storage, networking, virtualization, and container runtimes.
• Work at the lower levels of the Linux stack—kernel, drivers, filesystems, containers, PCIe.
• Shipping production code in Rust, C, or Go and taking ownership end-to-end.
• Be part of an on-call rotation and diagnose production incidents.
• Profile, tune, and eliminate bottlenecks at scale.
