Job summary

Unconventional is seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Physical Design Engineer, to lead back-end realization of a novel AI computing platform. You will translate complex RTL into GDSII, drive PPA and ensure sign-off for high-performance silicon.

You will work at the intersection of architecture and silicon, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize physical design on advanced nodes and contribute to automation of the design flow.

Qualifications

• Experience with Static Timing Analysis (STA) and timing closure for high-frequency, complex designs.
• Deep understanding of physical design challenges in advanced nodes (multi-patterning, finFET effects, low-voltage operation).
• Proficiency in power integrity analysis and noise coupling mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Full RTL-to-GDSII ownership: floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing and physical verification.
• Drive aggressive Power, Performance, and Area targets with architects for better timing and routability.
• Own final sign-off processes, including STA, IR drop, EM, and DRC/LVS/ERC.
