Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a Lead Scientist to design, develop, and apply innovative AI technologies across power, renewables, grids, robotics, and manufacturing. You will lead projects and collaborate with researchers to move from theory to prototypes and solutions, shaping the future of energy AI.

The role involves publishing findings, supporting grant proposals, and creating IP. Office location is in Niskayuna, NY, and relocation is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with at least 2 years in AI; or MS with at least 5 years in AI.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python code.
• Familiarity with GenAI packages (OpenAI, Google, Meta) and ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience in training domain-specific LLMs, foundation models, or integrating AI with physics in scientific ML.

Responsibilities

• Research, conceptualize, and develop AI solutions for hard industrial problems.
• Lead projects and collaborate with teams of peer researchers.
• Demonstrate value of AI via early prototypes and real-world solutions.
• Employ software libraries, tools, and practices to build scalable, reusable solutions.
• Create intellectual property by invention disclosures and filing patents.
• Publish research in journals/conferences.
• Write and/or support grant proposals.
