Job summary

Mistral is building and scaling US-based research and engineering teams from the ground up. As a member of the US Talent Acquisition team, you’ll shape recruitment strategy and operations, partnering with Research leadership to attract exceptional researchers and engineers who will advance Mistral's frontier-model ambitions.

You will own end-to-end technical recruitment, build candidate experiences, and help raise hiring standards across the US as we grow.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of recruiting experience, including in startup/high-growth environments with a focus on research and engineering roles.
• Ability to hire across Research Science and Research Engineering.
• Deep network and sourcing expertise in US research and engineering markets, with credibility in AI/ML.
• Track record of hiring in competitive, candidate-scarce markets with multiple offers.
• Willingness to work across multiple US markets and handle relocation/visa hiring.

Responsibilities

• Partner deeply with technical leaders to understand hiring needs, define role specs, and identify talent.
• Own full-cycle recruitment across Research Science and Research Engineering.
• Advise on market mapping, leveling, and compensation positioning for US talent.
• Translate role nuances into compelling candidate outreach and engagement.
• Drive efficient pipelines and close top researchers and engineers in a competitive market.
• Standardize technical interview rubrics and debrief practices across US teams.
