Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Principal AI Product Manager to shape the future of student support with intelligent, personalized experiences at scale. This senior, IC role guides strategy across product domains and partners with engineering, analytics, and academic stakeholders.

You will lead Discovery & experimentation, drive KPIs, and mentor other PMs while working in a Salt Lake City office. 10+ years in product, AI, and data-driven development are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field required.
• 10+ years leading software product management at senior/principal levels.
• Proven ability to lead AI/ML enabled, data-driven products.
• Strong engineering and data science collaboration experience.
• Experience with business case development and ROI analyses.
• Proficient in Agile product development and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own AI-enabled product strategy and cross-domain initiatives.
• Define vision, roadmaps, and investment priorities aligned to customer needs.
• Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to solve complex business challenges.
• Lead discovery, experiments, and customer research to validate ideas.
• Coordinate across engineering, data science, design, and business teams.
• Measure success with KPIs and adapt strategies to maximize impact.
• Mentor other product managers and elevate PM practices.
