Job summary

Storm2 is seeking an AI Product Engineer for a commercial insurance platform based in San Francisco. You will own the frontend, backend and AI layer, partnering with sales, service and underwriting to ship production features that move the business.

You’ll prototype fast, ship quickly, and measure impact with real customer data, using Cursor, Claude Code, and Windsurf to accelerate the cycle. This in-office role requires relocation to or presence in SF.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production software, with level determined by depth rather than fixed years.
• Strong Python, TypeScript or comparable full-stack engineering experience.
• Production experience with LLM applications, agent pipelines, AI-powered workflows or similar systems.
• The ability to move between frontend, backend and applied AI rather than owning one narrow layer.
• Evidence you’ve shipped meaningful features quickly and iterated from real user feedback.
• Confidence explaining technical work and its business impact to non-technical teams.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code or Windsurf.
• Based in San Francisco or genuinely willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Building AI-powered features from frontend through backend, agents and evals.
• Collaborating with sales, service and underwriting to identify high-leverage problems.
• Developing agentic workflows and automation to improve speed and customer experience.
• Creating feedback loops to trace, evaluate and improve decisions and outcomes.
• Testing new models and capabilities and selecting those for production.
• Owning post-launch business metrics like conversion, efficiency or customer experience.
• Building evaluation and monitoring to ensure AI systems work in production.
