Job summary

Berkley Technology Services (BTS) is seeking an AI Platform, Principal Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable AI platforms that support advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. This role works with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop robust, scalable solutions across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, strong knowledge of Python/R/Java, and hands-on expertise with ML

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in data/AI projects.
• Proven experience building and maintaining AI or ML platforms.
• Strong programming in Python, R, and/or Java.
• Experience with AWS/Azure and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Fluent with SQL/NoSQL databases and modern data stores.
• Knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with NLP and REST APIs, API Gateways, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable AI platforms to support ML models.
• Collaborate with data scientists to align model requirements and infra.
• Implement data pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring.
• Ensure high availability and performance of AI services.
• Build REST APIs and secure front ends; integrate with frontend teams.
• Design database schemas for relational, NoSQL, and graph stores.
• Integrate with Kafka and Entra ID; ensure security and scalability.
• Document architecture and provide guidance to teams.
