Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and build core backend services, REST and GraphQL APIs, and to integrate AI capabilities across the product stack.

You will set security, deployment, and observability standards while collaborating with care teams and product frontends. You will contribute to architecture reviews, drive backend engineering standards, and work with TypeScript and Next.js to deliver end-to-end features, ensuring scalable, production-ready systems across

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend and platform engineering
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for API and service development
• Proven track record building scalable, production-grade REST or GraphQL APIs
• Solid understanding of authentication (OAuth2, OIDC), API security patterns, and authorization model design
• HIPAA requirements for PHI security and compliant data handling
• Experience with Next.js and React for full-stack development
• Ownership of complex backend systems end-to-end from architecture to production

Responsibilities

• Design and lead development of core backend services and APIs
• Define and implement AI integration patterns into product APIs
• Establish security, authentication, authorization, and audit logging patterns
• Build observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure
• Contribute to full-stack feature delivery using TypeScript and Next.js
