Voleon is seeking a Senior Member of Research Staff in Berkeley to drive advanced statistical machine learning projects focused on financial market prediction and portfolio optimization. You will lead and mentor peers, publish ideas, and push production-ready models into live trading environments.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years directing key research projects and mentoring colleagues.
• Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, exercising judgment in methods and evaluation.
• Proven track record solving large-scale computing problems.
• Expertise in modern statistical methods and machine learning with a track record as an applied researcher.
• Strong mathematical abilities across statistics and data analysis.
• Production-level coding skills in Python and/or R.
• Excellent communication of complex technical issues and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Oversee strategic research projects and lead key ML initiatives in finance.
• Develop, validate, and productionize predictive models for trading outcomes.
• Mentor researchers and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Prepare and analyze datasets to assess predictive efficacy.
