Job summary

Nivoda is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer for the Discovery Pod to build and run ranking, recommendation, and search systems that help buyers find the right stone quickly. You’ll own models end-to-end—from features and training to deployment and monitoring—in a production AI-driven marketplace environment.

You’ll work on real information retrieval and applied ML tasks, including contextual search, image-embedding search, and learning-to-rank, with an emphasis on robust evaluation and graceful

Qualifications

• Information retrieval infrastructure experience — building or operating real search systems.
• Applied ML for ranking and recommendations end-to-end — learning-to-rank, embedding-based retrieval, CF.
• NLP/LLM production experience — prompt design and retrieval-augmented approaches.
• Low-latency real-time model-serving under production load.
• Experience designing for graceful failure in probabilistic systems.
• Comfort using AI coding agents for ML infrastructure.
• Strong evaluation and testing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate real search infrastructure powering ranking and multi-modal search.
• Design multi-tenant configurable ranking serving both marketplace and jeweller storefronts.
• Develop Contextual Search and conversational search with image embeddings.
• Define offline/online evaluation and interleaving experiments for ranking changes.
• Own lifecycle of ranking/recommendation models: features, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.
• Design low-latency, real-time model-serving systems under production load.
• Build ML infrastructure with AI coding agents and robust testing harnesses.
