Job summary

Markon Solutions is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to design and integrate LLM/agent-based workflows for DoD mission contexts in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will build production-grade AI capabilities and collaborate with data scientists and mission analysts.

The ideal candidate has TS/SCI with poly, 10+ years of engineering experience, and strong Python development for AI/ML applications. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Data Science with 4 years' substituteable experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for AI/ML development.
• Demonstrated experience building/hosting LLM/agent systems in production.
• Experience with RAG, vector databases, and prompt/context engineering.
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced mission environments and escalate risks.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate LLM/agent orchestration workflows.
• Tune model routing across frontier/open-weight models for cost and performance.
• Develop RAG pipelines and memory services for context access.
• Implement tool-broker integrations for enterprise tools/data.
• Benchmark models and agent behaviors with automated evaluation.
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize AI capabilities.
• Implement AI governance guardrails and document architectures.
