Job summary

Modular is seeking a senior graph compiler engineer to extend and optimize the graph compiler for diverse hardware, including CPUs, GPUs, and ML accelerators. You will design and implement compiler optimizations and collaborate across kernel, serving, and Mojo teams.

This role supports remote work from the US or Canada with onboarding in Los Altos, CA. The base salary ranges from $198,000 to $286,000 USD, with equity and bonus components, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and compiler development basics.
• Experience with compilers for machine learning frameworks (MLIR/LLVM familiarity optional).
• Creativity, curiosity, and a team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop compiler optimizations to improve inference efficiency across CPUs, GPUs, and ML accelerators.
• Compile large-scale workloads onto heterogeneous hardware by mapping graphs to device-specific graphs.
• Collaborate with kernels, serving, and Mojo compiler teams to deliver end-to-end performance.
• Write design documents for new features and align with cross-functional teams.
• Engage with customers to understand performance requirements and use cases.
