Job summary

Esri is seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead the Indoor GIS team in Redlands, shaping how users understand and navigate built environments. You will own end-to-end features, drive technical direction, and mentor developers while applying AI, computer vision, and 3D graphics to indoor mapping workflows.

Collaborate across product, UX, and engineering to turn emerging AI technologies into production-ready solutions, influencing standards and practices for scalable, maintainable Indoor GIS

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in two or more of: C++, C#/.NET, Python—with depth in at least one.
• Demonstrated experience integrating or building with AI/ML technologies in production or near-production contexts.
• Strong command of software architecture, algorithms, and data structures.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, architect, and implement production-quality components for AI-assisted indoor mapping and data creation workflows.
• Lead technical exploration of Gaussian splats, 3D mesh-derived level generation, visual positioning, and reality capture integration patterns.
• Design and develop robust C++, C# and Python components that handle spatial data, imagery, video frames, geometry processing, model evaluation, and QA workflows.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and establish engineering standards for AI/ML, computer vision, and 3D software inside Indoor GIS products.
• Communicate technical findings and tradeoffs clearly to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
