Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI-focused Senior Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, program managers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products and scalable AI infrastructure.

You will design and ship AI software components, train and evaluate models, ensure guardrails and governance, and push the boundaries of LLM performance while aligning with Capital One's responsible AI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with at least 3 years of AI/ML development experience.
• 3+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
• 4 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training, inference, guardrails, governance, and observability.
• Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and more.
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, cost, latency, throughput of large scale production AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
