Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 3 (AI Foundations) in New York, NY. You will design, develop and scale AI software, including foundation model training, LLM inference, agents and multi-agent workflows, and integration with tools like PyTorch and VectorDBs.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with research and data teams, and help govern model traceability and safety while delivering high-performance AI infrastructure for banking applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with related fields and relevant AI/ML experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• Experience programming in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Advance foundation model optimization, performance, cost, latency and scalability.
• Contribute to technical vision and roadmaps for foundational AI systems.
