Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to own data and analysis behind our AI cost landscape. You will extend cost models, build data pipelines, and produce actionable insights to optimize AI spend as adoption grows.

The role requires strong Python, SQL, and BI skills, plus automation-minded collaboration with product and engineering teams. This fully remote position offers exposure to leading AI cost frameworks, governance support, and cross-functional partnerships.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, technology finance, data analytics, or closely related analytical role.
• Strong analytical judgment with ability to explain methodology, assumptions, and results.
• AI and token literacy; understanding what drives inference cost (tokens, context length, model tier, caching).
• Python skills to build and maintain data pipelines, pull data from APIs, normalize complex datasets, and automate repetitive work.
• Strong SQL and hands-on dashboard building in Power BI or Tableau for engineering and finance audiences.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools (Codex/Claude) to accelerate analysis and automation.
• Strong follow-through to manage multiple workstreams and communicate progress clearly.
• Clear written communication translating consumption data into concise narratives.

Responsibilities

• Extend and operate AI cost models, attributing spend across tokens, models, products, and teams.
• Build Python pipelines to pull telemetry from APIs, platform services, and cloud billing.
• Automate recurring reporting and month-end close processes.
• Develop dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for engineering and Finance audiences.
• Investigate cost movements and provide evidence-based explanations of changes.
• Identify optimization opportunities such as right-sizing, caching, retrieval tuning, and tooling.
• Support AI spend forecasting and budgeting with underlying analysis.
