Job summary
Leidos is looking for an AI Engineer in San Diego, California to join the National Security Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area. You will drive AI development and collaborate with a large engineering team on AI-enabled software modernization.

Qualifications
- At least 8+ years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience using AI‑assisted development tools.
- Understanding of secure AI development practices.
- Experience deploying and operating AI/ML services.
Responsibilities
- Lead AI development across a 20+ person engineering team.
- Build AI/ML tools including LLM orchestration.
- Collaborate with customers through technical meetings.
- Design AI system architectures and integration strategies.
- Integrate AI into engineering workflows.
- Develop documentation including user guides and API references.
- Support deployment and testing of AI‑enabled systems.
- Optimize AI models for performance and reliability.
