Job summary

Boston University is building a world-class AI Engineering team on the Charles River Campus. You will lead development of AI, automation, and data engineering projects that transform university operations and services.

You will work closely with faculty and technical teams to deliver scalable AI solutions using cutting-edge frameworks and architectures, while focusing on performance, security, and impact on a national scale.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or comparable work experience.
• 5+ years of applicable work experience.
• Proficiency in full-stack AI development with Python, front-end frameworks, APIs, databases, and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI applications and agents for university operations.
• Collaborate with faculty and teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.
• Stay current with MCP, A2A, RAG, embeddings, and modern AI frameworks.

Required Skills

You Will Have:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. or comparable work experience.
• 5+ years of applicable work experience.
• Proficiency in full-stack AI development - front-end and back-end (e.g., Python, React, Vue, Node.js, Typescript, API's, databases, Git/GitHub, CI/CD, AI Coding Assistants, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, etc.). Knowledge of recent AI developments (e.g., MCP, A2A, etc.) is desirable.
• Hands‑on experience with prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, and modern AI frameworks.
• Knowledge of developing secure, scalable applications.
