Everforth Apex Systems in Chicago, IL seeks a Java Solutions Architect to define architectures for AI-augmented financial platforms. You will design agentic AI frameworks, integrate tools, ensure security and observability, and lead Java/C++ modernization across distributed teams.

Requires 15+ years in server-side Java, AI-in-architecture experience, and proficiency in Java/Spring/JVM with strong C++ knowledge. On-site employment with a focus on scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Fifteen or more years of server-side Java experience with architecture/leadership.
• Experience applying AI to software architecture and engineering is required.
• Proficiency in Java on Linux/UNIX, Spring Boot, JVM tuning, and multithreading.
• Strong knowledge of memory management and complex system design in C++.
• Experience with relational data modeling and enterprise messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Define target architectures, reference patterns, and technical standards for AI-augmented applications.
• Design reusable agentic AI frameworks for prompt/context management and tool integration.
• Lead design, development, modernization, and integration of Java-based apps and C++ services.
• Develop high-quality software with automated tests and clean interfaces.
• Translate business requirements into architecture, stories, acceptance criteria, and plans.
• Improve CI/CD practices including PRs, branching, and release documentation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
