Job summary

Capgemini Invent in San Francisco seeks a Senior Consultant, Industrial Designer to lead industrial design workstreams from discovery to development. You’ll create meaningful physical products and experiences, mentor junior designers, and apply AI-enabled tools to accelerate insight, exploration, and design refinement.

The role requires five+ years of industrial design experience, strong portfolio, and business-level English.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional industrial design experience with a strong design portfolio.
• Ability to own industrial design workstreams and mentor junior designers.
• Experience with AI-enabled design methods and responsible AI principles.

Responsibilities

• Define differentiated product value propositions and design directions by combining user insight, business objectives, design research, and AI-augmented analysis.
• Own industrial design workstreams from discovery through development, guiding clients toward decisions on vision, strategy and execution.
• Conceptualize and communicate physical product experiences using sketching, 3D CAD, renderings, mock-ups and AI-enabled visualization workflows.
• Develop, prototype, test, and refine product concepts with emphasis on usability, ergonomics, sustainable materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate across strategy, research, digital design, data, engineering, suppliers, and client teams while mentoring junior colleagues.
