Astronomer is seeking a Software Engineer to help design and build the foundation for our AI-driven data platform. You’ll work across the stack on search, information retrieval, and AI tooling that empowers data practitioners.

Qualifications

• Experience with LLMs, embeddings, or vector databases is desired.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience building AI-driven data tooling and retrieval systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with open-source contributions a bonus.

• Design and engineer the brain of Astronomer’s context layer for data modeling and search.
• Experiment with LLMs and retrieval techniques to build developer tools.
• Turn research into reality by partnering with R&D and product teams.

• Represent Astronomer in the community through open-source contributions.
