Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join our distributed AI team and build data pipelines powering model training and next‑generation AI products.

We develop high-quality datasets at scale and seek a strong backend engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, exploring new data sources, and building scalable systems. You will work with AI scientists to enhance training data and models while taking ownership of projects from discovery to delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines and systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.

Responsibilities

• Discover new sources of audio data and build pipelines for training datasets.
• Build and optimize large-scale data-processing systems for quality, throughput, and cost.
• Collaborate with AI scientists to improve training datasets for next-generation models.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery to implementation and continuous improvement.
