Job summary

ECPI University seeks an experienced software engineer to develop AI/LLM applications and maintain the university’s AI suite. You will focus on RAG systems, vector storage, and cloud-native services across Azure and AWS, collaborating with a Director of AI and Analytics and other developers.

You will contribute to architecture, data storage, and agile delivery while staying current with AI models, embeddings, and cloud AI tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or related experience.
6+ years of software engineering experience in software development and cloud-based applications.
2+ years of experience with AI/LLM application development.
2+ years of experience in AI Assisted coding.

Responsibilities

Design and develop multi-platform AI applications using cloud architecture; define specs and oversee full lifecycle.
Build LLM-powered tools for faculty, staff and students using Azure/AWS/OpenAI APIs.
Design and optimize RAG pipelines with embeddings, chunking, retrieval logic, and vector search.
Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud native vector stores; handle data ingestion and indexing.
