Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Lead AI Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale AI solutions with a strong engineering foundation.

You will define architectures for agentic workflows, multi-model orchestration, and tool integrations, collaborating with product and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable AI systems. You will mentor peers, drive AI observability and safe AI practices, and work with major model providers to shape standards for selection, routing, and fallback.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer or related discipline preferred.
• 8+ years of related experience preferred.
• Experience in AI/agent development strongly preferred.
• Certifications in AWS/Azure cloud AI services a plus.
• Media and Broadcast domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and own AI solution architectures spanning agentic workflows, MCP server infrastructure, and multi-model orchestration.
• Lead design and deployment of complex RAG architectures and vector database strategies.
• Architect and implement MCP servers and tool integrations with advanced function calling and structured outputs.
• Guide integration with major model providers (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic) and set standards for routing and fallback.
• Establish engineering patterns for AI observability, prompt engineering, and rigorous evaluation frameworks.
