Job summary

Lexsi Labs is seeking a developer tooling-focused engineer to own the coding agent, its tool surface, and integration with engineering workflows. You will work with researchers on evaluation design, post-training alignment, and interpretable agent behavior within customer environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with developer tooling, IDE internals, language servers, and code intelligence.
• Expertise in ASTs, static and dataflow analysis, code search, symbol indexing, and refactoring tooling.
• Strong background in build systems, CI/CD, and hermetic offline-capable pipelines.
• Experience with observability tooling and debugging non-deterministic systems.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and production deployment.
• Backend fundamentals in Python, APIs, containers, and data pipelines.
• Ability to reason about performance, reliability, cost, safety, and interpretability.
• Comfort with loosely specified problems and ownership-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the agent architecture and its tool surface for software work (retrieval, edits, builds, tests, static analysis, VCS).
• Implement verification to ensure changes are correct before human review.
• Oversee long-horizon execution with multi-file refactors, migrations, checkpoints and recovery.
• Define authorization and rollback models governing agent actions and undo methods.
• Integrate with the engineering estate and observability tooling used for debugging and auditing.
• Develop evaluation suites from real repository tasks and refine behavior accordingly.
