Job summary

Shield AI in Dallas is seeking a driven test professional to support aircraft and system testing on the XBAT program. You will plan and execute tests for UAV/UAS and manned aircraft, building test plans from the ground up and ensuring safety and quality throughout development, integration and flight operations.

The role requires hands-on testing experience, collaboration with Test Engineering, Quality Engineering and cross-functional teams, and willingness to travel domestically.

Qualifications

• Plan, execute and report on test activities for UAV/UAS or manned aircraft systems.
• Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Develop aircraft test plans and procedures for new or modified systems.
• Hands-on experience supporting aircraft integration, test and validation in production/manufacturing environments.
• Troubleshoot complex aircraft, avionics and system integration issues during test.
• Travel domestically to support flight test and customer site activities.
• Maintain safety-focused approach to testing and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage traceability of test requirements through development and test phases.
• Coordinate aircraft/lab test execution activities including pre-test readiness reviews.
• Plan test schedules to align with program milestones and objectives.
• Develop and manage test event sequencing and execution plans.
• Oversee ground and flight test execution ensuring compliance with procedures and safety.
• Participate in Test Readiness Reviews and pre-test briefings.
• Improve test procedures for accuracy, efficiency and repeatability.
• Investigate test anomalies and support timely resolution.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve issues.
