Job summary

Orbital Operations in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Technical Program Manager to own the execution of funded government programs from kickoff through delivery. Qualifications

• 7+ years managing technical program execution on aerospace or defense programs.
• Fluent with the core programmatic toolkit including integrated master schedules, milestone tracking, risk matrices, and cost tracking.
• Experience with government customers, ideally DoD, including deliverable management and direct interaction with program offices and contracting officers.
• Comfort building new processes since there is no existing one to inherit.

Responsibilities

• Program execution: Day-to-day management of funded programs, including the integrated master schedule, milestone and deliverable tracking, action items, and program cadence.
• Government deliverables and reporting: Prepare CDRLs, milestone reviews, status reports, and financial reporting inputs with engineering providing content.
• Risk management: Build and maintain the program risk matrix and drive mitigation before slips.
• Requirements and verification tracking: Ensure contract requirements and verification statuses are traceable and visible to the customer.
• Design review coordination: Manage SRR/PDR/CDR/TRR cadence, criteria tracking, and ensure reviews occur on time.
• Technical performance visibility: Align margins with technical budgets and flag erosion early to guide deliberate tradeoffs.
• Customer interface: Be the day-to-day point of contact with government program managers and contracting officers.
