Job summary

Defense Hardware Delivery seeks a senior aero engineer to own the aerodynamic model and outer mold line for ULR airframes, including the pipeline to coefficient tables for 6-DOF sims and flight software. You will drive CFD studies, wind tunnel campaigns, and flight-test correlation end-to-end on a fast-moving defense program.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of aerodynamics, flight sciences, or aircraft design experience.
• Hands-on CFD experience with judgment about fidelity value.
• Wind tunnel experience from planning through data reduction.
• Strong scripting and tooling ability (Python, MATLAB, C++/Rust).
• Fluency with modern test data infrastructure and AI-assisted workflows.
• Track record of taking an airframe from concept through test and flight.
• Bias toward low-cost, manufacturable airframes.

Responsibilities

• Own aerodynamic model and OML for ULR airframes; configuration, control surfaces, static margin and derivatives.
• Build geometry-to-coefficient-table pipeline for 6-DOF simulation and flight software.
• Conduct CFD across subsonic and transonic regimes; calibrate to low-fidelity methods and test data.
• Lead wind tunnel campaigns end-to-end: article definition, instrumentation, data reduction, design changes.
• Support flight test: pre-flight prediction, post-flight correlation, loop closing on the model.
• Develop flight sciences data tooling: telemetry ingest, automated review, visualization for rapid decision-making.
• Collaborate on vehicle-level trades with propulsion, structures, avionics under cost constraints.
