Job description

We are seeking a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer in our Broomfield, CO location to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure systems across cryogenic, fluid‑handling, and precision building/facility environments. The ideal candidate brings strong systems integration and field‑execution experience spanning cryogenics, industrial gases, and advanced facility technologies such as precision building controls, environmental systems, and data‑center‑grade mechanical/electrical infrastructure.

All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre‑employment drug test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end‑to‑end systems engineering for advanced infrastructure projects, including cryogenic distribution systems, industrial gas systems, and precision facility control systems (e.g., data centers, cleanrooms, high‑stability labs).
  • Lead system‑level architecture, requirements definition, trade studies, and requirements flow‑down for cryogenic delivery, facility utilities, and environmental or controls infrastructure.
  • Serve as a technical authority for the integration of complex subsystems such as cryogenic equipment, fluid‑handling systems, vacuum‑jacketed lines, compressors, pumps, valves, PLC‑based controls, SCADA/BMS interfaces, and electrical power systems.
  • Lead and participate in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment and control systems in operational environments—including cryogenic systems, building automation systems (BAS), and precision environmental controls.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, controls, facility operations, safety, external vendors, and project teams to resolve interface challenges and deliver reliable integrated systems.
  • Support R&D, scale‑up, and continuous‑improvement initiatives by transitioning experimental or prototype concepts into robust, field‑deployable systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including process workflows, P&IDs, control logic, interface specifications, safety procedures, and operations/maintenance guidance.
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's Degree minimum
  • 6+ years of experience delivering complex facility or infrastructure systems, preferably involving cryogenics, fluids, or industrial gases.
  • 4+ years' experience with design software—ASPEN, EcoSim, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Onshape or similar.
  • Due to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE
  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with systems integration, commissioning, and field execution.
  • Strong understanding of cryogenic safety practices, hazard analysis, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Experience as an engineering project lead on an infrastructure upgrade or a new pilot‑scale project.
  • In‑depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory standards related to cryogenic systems.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies (requirements of management, interface control, verification & validation).
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and external partners on delivered systems.
  • Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and drive issues to closure in fast‑moving project environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear guidance for operations, leadership, and non‑technical stakeholders.
