Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling)

Job Description

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Tooling Engineer is responsible to plan, direct and coordinatethe implementation of manufacturing process into an industrial plant. The Senior AME works to develops, implements, and improves manufacturing strategies by utilizing their knowledge of product design, materials, tooling and equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. They create plans that optimize work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow. The Senior AME uses product requirements to create specifications and options for tooling and equipment and thenworks with vendors to procure, install and implement into the manufacturing facility.

Main Responsibilities, Requirements, and Competencies

Essential Functions of Job:

• Provide manufacturing feasibilityassessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns.
• Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling.
• Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training.
• Complete Process FMEA and manage RPN risks.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assess the product, process, equipment and toolingstrategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve.
• Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate and internal process signoffs.
• Create and support continuous improvement projects.

Specific Requirements

Required Education Level Bachelor's Level Degree

Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering

Plastics or Engineering Technology required (BSME or BSMET or similar)

*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

5-9 Minimum Years of Experience

3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar

Must be able and willing to travel and work atcustomer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, orworking in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level,Skills, Knowledge)

• Experience in Automotive/Manufacturing (Tier One Automotive interiors experience preferred, not required)
• Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem solving
• Work flow, line balance and takt time
• Experience with AutoCAD
• DOEand data driven studies experience
• Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement training or experience
• Candidates must demonstrate technical and project management skills
• Familiar with entire product life including development, launch and production.
• Understands and demonstratesability to work with and improve documented manufacturing standards
