Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC in Los Angeles is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build scalable ML systems for ad ranking and optimization. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to shape next-generation shopping experiences on TikTok.

Requirements include 3+ years in big data processing, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on experience with distributed data frameworks. This is an on-site role with a path to a fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical disciplines.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in big data processing and storage frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, RocksDB).
• Strong CS fundamentals (coding, algorithms, data structures, software design) and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think critically and formulate clear solutions; effective communication and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build highly scalable machine learning systems and models to improve ad ranking quality and optimize advertisers' strategies.
• Explore, develop and experiment with new features to improve model accuracy.
• Understand ads platform objectives and use ML to improve ads relevance and delivery.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams to explore next-gen shopping experiences on TikTok.
