Job summary

Highmark Inc. seeks a senior actuarial analyst to participate in the Actuarial Executive Development Program and progress toward actuarial credentials.

The role uses industry knowledge to define problems, outline data needs, and develop solutions across pricing, reserving, and related health economics areas. The position involves mentoring staff, preparing analyses and presentations for decision makers, and applying statistical methods to diverse healthcare functions while driving process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related discipline
• Master's Degree or its equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or closely related discipline (preferred)
• 3 years experience in an Actuarial role
• 6 Exam Components (required); 10+ Exam Components (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Define and diagnose a problem and outline data requirements for a study or analysis
• Create studies, analyses, and materials to inform decision makers and support management
• Mentor less experienced staff and provide technical input across teams
• Identify and test suspect results and ensure internal/external consistency
• Develop new processes and enact improvements aligned with corporate goals
• Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities
• Explain technical work to technical and non-technical audiences for decision support
• Guide and mentor staff regularly to foster teamwork and excellence
• Other duties as assigned or requested
