Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Pharmacy Medical Economics to shape and support our pharmacy strategy. You will analyze data, collaborate across teams, and contribute to diverse actuarial functions that influence business decisions and performance.

You will perform trend analysis, profitability forecasting, and pricing research while maintaining industry awareness. Hybrid/Remote Flex work is available with Durham HQ reference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 4+ years of experience in relevant actuarial experience. Related experience may be considered.
• Must have completed 5 or more exams towards the eventual attainment of the ASA designation.
• In lieu of meeting minimum exam requirements, may consider additional relevant experience.
• In lieu of meeting minimum experience requirement, may consider ASA or more exams towards the eventual attainment of ASA.

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacy trend and hot spot analysis.
• Evaluates moderately complex trend analysis.
• Monitors and forecasts pharmacy profitability.
• Provides actuarial support for corporate pharmacy initiatives.
• Performs pricing research projects, including experience and trend analyses, book of business studies, vendor analyses, etc.
• Monitors industry news and ensures the company is competitively well-positioned in a dynamic marketplace.
• Proactively reviews advanced data analytic methods and identifies opportunities to improve team processes.
• Participates in requirements gathering for and serves as delegate or backup for corporate projects. Generates ideas and analytical approaches for Departmental projects.
• Plans, implements, manages and/or contributes to projects that are moderate/high complexity.
• Is a participant in good standing in the Actuarial Development Program.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
