Job summary

Milliman’s CMH Health Practice is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their vibrant, dynamic, and growing team. You will work across Medicare Advantage, Part D, Commercial/ACA, and other healthcare segments, applying actuarial models and software to deliver client solutions.

The role involves data analysis, pricing, reserving, forecasting, and potential M&A work. Remote candidates will be considered; office options include Milwaukee, Chicago, or Harford.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science or a quantitative field.
  • ASA designation with SOA.
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time actuarial experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel and actuarial concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, and Milliman tools to support consulting for various healthcare segments.
  • Participate in pricing, reserving, financial projections, model development, forecasting, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Review the work of peers and assist with research and product development.
  • Coordinate with Consultants, Managers, Professional Staff, and Interns to present client reports and deliverables.
  • Handle the majority of the technical work, including data analysis, actuarial calculations, models, and software solutions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, and proprietary Milliman programs to assist with consulting for various healthcare segments (Medicare Advantage and Part D, Commercial / ACA, Dental, Medicaid, Long Term Care, Pharmacy, Provider, and more)
  • Participate in consulting activities to include pricing, reserving, financial projections, model development, forecasting, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Responsible for reviewing the work of peers and assisting with research and product development
  • Coordinate with Consultants, Managers, Professional Staff, and Interns as a project team to present client reports and deliverables
  • Responsible for the majority of the technical work, which may include analyzing data, completing actuarial calculations, developing and utilizing actuarial models, and implementing software solutions
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's ormaster'sdegree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, accounting, or another major with quantitative course work
  • ASA designation with the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time actuarial experience
  • Thoroughunderstanding of Microsoft Excel and actuarial concepts

Location

It is preferred that this candidate work in-office at the Milwaukee, Chicago, or Harford office. Remote candidates will be considered.

Compensation

The overall salary range for this role is $88,800 - $184,460. For candidates residing in:

  • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Newark, San Jose, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia, the salary range is $102,120 - $184,460.
  • All other states salary range is $88,800 - $160,400.

A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
