Job summary

Basis is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to manage month-end close, ensure US GAAP compliance, and partner with FP&A and tax. You will own the chart of accounts, lead the accounting team, and oversee external audits.

Active CPA, 8+ years in accounting, 2+ years leading a team, and experience with NetSuite and AI-enabled processes are highly valued. We offer flexible work options across the U.S. and Canada and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Active CPA license.
• Confidently communicate financial results and accounting implications to stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• Experience creating process documentation and understanding internal controls.
• 8+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing an accounting team.
• Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency (e.g., Copilot).
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Guide month-end close, ensure revenue and costs are recorded accurately; prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Mentor and lead the accounting team, supporting career development and removing roadblocks.
• Lead the annual audit with internal and external auditors.
• Coordinate preparation of US GAAP financial statements and footnotes for external reporting.
• Analyze and document accounting guidance for complex topics and communicate implications to auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including AI-driven automation.
• Own chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial statement accuracy.
• Serve as liaison with FP&A on budgeting and forecasts.
