Job summary

CFS in Connecticut is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to join our growing real estate development team. You will manage monthly close, prepare statements, maintain the general ledger, and provide financial insights to support business objectives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP systems and month-end close. CPA or Master's is preferred; excellent Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• Analytical, organized, and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio.
• Manage month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Track fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support audits and tax preparation activities.
• Provide financial insights to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio.
