APA International Placement Consultants in Portland, OR is seeking an Accounting Senior Analyst for a 2-month contract with a hybrid work setup (3 days onsite).

The role handles month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and payroll/benefits accounting, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting. Collaboration with Audit, FP&A, and accounting teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applied accounting experience; public accounting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply it to business needs.
  • Experience with SAP or similar general ledger systems is preferred.
  • Experience with reconciliation tools, Blackline preferred, is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in month-end general ledger and internal reporting processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare estimates and reserves for bonus and claims reviews with Accounting Manager.
  • Handle payroll and benefits accounting including related costs.
  • Support regulatory filings and internal control procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Collaborate with Budgeting and FP&A on income statement components.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Assist auditors and drive process improvements in accounting.
