Job summary

Fresh Products, LLC is seeking a full-time accounting professional to strengthen internal accounting operations. The role will work across the enterprise to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls, with involvement in processing Customer Rebates and Sales Commissions.

Based in our Perrysburg, Ohio office and reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will contribute to month-end closes, intercompany accounting, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and ability to analyze financial statements.
• Proficiency with PowerBI/Tableau/SAP for reporting and analytics.
• Strong data analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail in finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the calculation, audit and approval process for customer rebates and sales commissions.
• Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and related reports for accuracy and conformance to accounting standards.
• Complete monthly closing and reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate journal entries and GL.
• Review accounts and entries for proper classification and collaborate with business units for accuracy.
• Assist in intercompany accounting at month-end to ensure complete and accurate transactions.
• Support internal control framework with documentation and adherence to standards and processes.

Job description

This position will focus on our internal accounting operations. The successful candidate will work across the enterprise to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and sound internal controls. The role will also be involved with the processing of Customer Rebates and Sales Commissions for the company, to provide the opportunity for growth and development through exposure to the broader business operations.

This fantastic opportunity is a full-time position reporting directly to the Controller of the company. It is based at our office in Perrysburg, Ohio. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k) with employer matching, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurances, disability insurance, and life insurance.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the calculation, audit and approval process for the Company’s customer rebates and sales commissions.
• Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to defined accounting standards.
• Complete monthly closing/reconciliation activities, ensuring journal entries and the general ledger are accurate.
• Review records of accounts and entries into proper accounts. Work with business to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in Intercompany Accounting at month-end, ensuring transactions between entities are accurate and complete
• Support internal control framework by maintaining adequate supporting documentation, understanding and adhering to accounting standards, and complying with internal processes and controls.

• Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting concepts: GAAP, financial statements, etc. while still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures to solve problems that may arise.
• Proficiency in PowerBI or like systems such as Tableau and SAP.
• Proficient in data science, data analytics, and business intelligence.
• Ability to multi-task and make progress on multiple priorities concurrently, keeping them on schedule.

Defined Performance Metrics

• Ensure sales and use tax compliance that prevents the company from incurring penalties from audit findings.
• Deliver complete, clean account reconciliations.
• Own Fixed Assets and CIP accounting, including ROI post-mortem for major projects.
• Achieve month-end and quarter-end timelines and deliver results within stated deadlines.
