Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Accountant for Statutory Financial Reporting to prepare European statutory statements and drive efficient reporting processes. The role collaborates with local advisors, BPO teams, and the Jazz Corporate Group Accounting group to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master's degree in Finance or Accounting with professional accounting qualification preferred.
• At least 7 years post-qualification experience in statutory financial reporting must be demonstrated.
• Experience with IFRS and US GAAP, and knowledge of local EU GAAP is an advantage.
• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, Oracle, or Workiva is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate statutory financial statements for European operations in accordance with applicable standards.
• Governance of balance sheet and coordination with BPO for financial statements.
• Interface with local country advisors and Jazz Corporate Group Accounting.
• Act as main contact for external auditors and ensure timely information provision.
• Drive process improvements in financial reporting and participate in accounting projects.

The Senior Accountant, Statutory Financial Reporting will play a pivotal role in the preparation of statutory financial statements for our European operations and actively participate in various accounting projects to drive operational efficiencies. This position requires a strong background in financial reporting and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

Statutory Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Balance Sheet Governance and BPO engagement in preparation for financial statements
• Ensure financial statements are in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Liaise with local country advisors to ensure accurate application of local GAAP
• Liaise with Jazz Corporate Group Accounting team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) to gather necessary information for financial reporting
• Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors during the audit of statutory financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate provision of requested information to auditors
• Maintain organized and thorough documentation supporting financial statements and accounting processes
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in the preparation of financial statements and implement best practices

Accounting Projects

• Proactively engage in accounting projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial reporting and accounting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
• Prior BPO management experience
• Prior audit management experience
• Continuous process improvement track record
• Enthusiastic, positive professional attitude with integrity and reliability

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

• Bachelor or master's degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) preferred, with at least 7 years post-qualification experience
• More than 3 years of experience with statutory financial statements
• Knowledge of the following systems an advantage: SAP S/4HANA, Blackline, Oracle, Workiva
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and financial reporting
• Knowledge of local EU GAAP an advantage
• Data and Reporting expertise an advantage
• Prior experience with European Statutory Reporting an advantage
• Knowledge of XRBL tagging an advantage
