As a primary accounting contact, you will manage multiple engagements, review reconciliations, support audits, and advise on budgeting and internal controls while mentoring analysts. The role emphasizes collaboration and delivering high‑quality client service.

Qualifications

• 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in state and local government or public sector.
• CPA and/or CGA certification preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day accounting contact for state and local government clients.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
• Coordinate and review complex account reconciliations, including cash, receivables, grant activity, etc.
• Provide advisory support related to budgeting, forecasting, financial management, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Assist clients with annual audits by preparing workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation; liaison with external auditors.
• Support grant compliance, federal and state reporting requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through technology, automation, and best practices.
• Mentor, coach, and review the work of associates and analysts.
• Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and trusted advisory services.
