Job summary

Alcon in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Senior Accountant to join our finance team to analyze and prepare financial reports for our pharmaceutical products. You will own monthly balance sheet analyses, prepare journal entries, and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2 years of relevant accounting experience, and strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, with proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience
• Prior accounting experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements. Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient ERP knowledge (SAP)
• Confirmed Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate and robust monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations.
• Preparing accurate journal entries in a timely manner.
• Ongoing operational improvements made through the month to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and address business / operational changes.
• Collaborating proactively with key partners, including Finance colleagues, internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Regional/Global Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these partners is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.
