Job summary

The Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) seeks a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role focuses on payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, and scalable financial operations to support our mission-driven work.

You will partner with the Controller and colleagues to improve processes, maintain internal controls, and ensure accurate financial records while enabling CAC to advance positive impact worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Experience processing payroll.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare account reconciliations and ensure financial records remain accurate and complete.
• Assist with general ledger accounting and journal entries.
• Help maintain strong internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Own payroll processing and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll-related questions.
• Support tax filings and payroll compliance activities.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members.
• Review reconciliations and day-to-day accounting activity.
• Help troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth financial operations across the team.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Partner with leadership to help build scalable accounting practices for the future.
