Job summary

Mercury One, Inc. seeks a Senior Accountant to support accounting and reporting for multiple entities, including annual audits, tax returns, and journal entries. You will help improve financial processes while serving disaster relief, museum expansion, and religious freedom initiatives.

The role requires 5-10+ years of professional experience in accounting, preferably with nonprofit exposure, and strong Excel skills. Flexible work-from-home options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business.
• 5-10+ years of professional-level experience.
• Experience in non-profits preferred.
• Proficient with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ledgers ensuring GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Oversee closing of books and daily journal entries.
• Back-up Accounts Payable and bank reconciliations.
• Assist Controller with external audit process and tax returns.
• Maintain internal financial controls across the organization.
• Manage Museum Artifact, Prepaid, Fixed Asset and Inventory schedules.
