Job summary

King Built Properties, a growing construction and real estate organization, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Springfield, Missouri. Hybrid or remote arrangements considered, with relocation assistance for highly qualified candidates.

You'll manage the full accounting cycle across multiple entities, prepare financial statements, maintain the general ledger, and monitor cash flow while improving controls and reporting systems. This role requires independent work and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and full accounting cycle expertise.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Proficient in GL, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills.
• Experience with modern accounting software.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle across multiple entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding.
• Perform bank, credit card, loan, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, and adjustments.
• Monitor cash flow, commitments, and upcoming obligations.
• Track project costs and construction-related financial activity.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with outside CPAs, tax professionals, lenders, and banks.
• Prepare documentation for tax, audits, financing, and lender requirements.
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
