Job description
About the Company

Our client is a privately held investment group that acquires and operates U.S. manufacturing and distribution businesses under a long‑term hold model. This team takes a hands‑on approach, building value through operational improvement, continuous investment, and partnership with management teams.

Over the past few years, the firm has completed several acquisitions across the industrial and manufacturing sectors and continues to expand its portfolio throughout the Midwest. Their structure is lean, entrepreneurial, and focused on creating lasting value in each business they own.

The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant will serve as a key finance resource supporting multiple operating entities within the group. This role combines multi‑entity accounting with manufacturing and cost accounting, providing high visibility to both corporate and plant leadership.

You’ll have a direct impact on financial accuracy, operational transparency, and process improvement across several fast‑growing industrial businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Multi‑Entity Accounting & Reporting – Manage monthly and quarterly close processes for multiple operating companies; prepare consolidated financials, account reconciliations, and management reporting packages; support external audit and tax compliance processes.
  • Cost & Inventory Accounting – Maintain accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation across sites; analyze production costs, variances, and margins; support pricing and profitability reviews; partner with plant and operations leadership to strengthen cost visibility and controls.
  • Process & Systems Development – Help standardize accounting procedures across business units; support ERP implementation and data integrity initiatives; drive automation and process improvement within the accounting workflow.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or distribution preferred).
  • Deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and multi‑entity consolidation.
  • Strong Excel and ERP system skills (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Analytical, proactive, and comfortable working in a hands‑on, growth‑oriented environment.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities across entities.
  • Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
  • Bonus: Target of 20%, tied to business performance and ROI metrics
  • Equity Mindset: Opportunity to co‑invest alongside ownership in future acquisitions
Why It’s a Great Fit

This is a rare opportunity for a driven accountant to step into a role with real ownership and visibility. You’ll work directly with seasoned operators, gain exposure to multiple manufacturing environments, and help shape the finance foundation of a growing investment platform.

If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, working across entities, and building financial systems from the ground up—this is the environment for you.
