Job summary

Chamberlin Agriculture is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting. You will own core closing activities, prepare statements, and research technical accounting guidance to ensure compliant treatment of transactions.

The role emphasizes improving reporting quality, documenting conclusions, and collaborating across accounting policies, controls, and audits. East Wenatchee location with standard 8am-5pm hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to technical accounting topics.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (IFRS a plus).
• Experience researching accounting guidance and documenting positions.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as Sage and QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail.
• CPA (preferred or in progress).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Lead critical components of the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and consolidations.
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance to support proper treatment of transactions.
• Draft accounting memos and document conclusions for complex or non-routine areas.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and ensure balance sheet integrity.
• Analyze financial results and explain variances to management.
• Partner with the Controller on implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
• Support external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes.
• Invoicing & AP/AR (Limited Scope)
• Maintain general familiarity with AP/AR workflows to support overall financial accuracy.
• Provide occasional backup support for invoicing or billing as needed.
